Medieval scholarship plus writings for/about the SCA

My involvement in the Society for Creative Anachronism led to reading more scholarly sources. By the late 1990s I was invited to present papers at the World Congress in Medieval Studies. My second paper, on Boucicaut, led to publication in a book named Winner of the 2014 Verbruggen Prize of De Re Militari (the Society for the Study of Medieval Military History) given annually for the best book on medieval military history.
